MATT KENT- Choreographer, Pilobolus has no formal training in dance but has rigorously studied the martial art ninjutsu under the tutelage of world renowned master Bud Malmstrom. While pursuing a Bachelor's in Music Therapy at the University of Georgia, Matt began to integrate theatre, music, psychology, and non-traditional movement vocabularies, under the creative mentorship of the Dance Department head, Bala Sarasvati. In 1996, Matt joined Pilobolus where he collaborated in the creation of eighteen works, served as Dance Captain for three years, and performed and taught around the globe. He now tours part time - internationally and domestically - with Pilobolus and teaches master classes and residencies for the Pilobolus Institute. Matt has incorporated his improvisational and collaborative experiences with Pilobolus, music and martial art into his own choreography and multidiscipline teaching program and performs and teaches at corporate venues, public schools and for the dance community.
