Sandra Ruppert is the Senior Associate for Research and Policy with the Arts Education Partnership, a Washington DC based national non-profit coalition of more than 100 government, arts, education, business and philanthropic organizations, which demonstrates and promotes the essential role of the arts in helping all students succeed in school, life and work.
At AEP, Sandra directs the Ford Foundation’s “Integrating the Arts and Education Reform Initiative,” which is currently working with 9 community-based collaboratives around the country to help improve student achievement in urban school districts through integration of the arts. She also oversees AEP’s annual Arts Education State Policy Survey on policies and practices to support the arts in education. Additionally, she is the author of numerous publications
Prior to joining the staff of AEP, Sandra was a Senior Policy Analyst and Program Director with the Education Commission of the States, a Denver-based national organization. While at ECS, she was responsible for the design and direction of ECS’ 2004-2006 Chairman, Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee’s, Arts in Education Initiative.
